SLCB and SCHS Collaborate for Early Detection of Children’s Developmental Issues

Sharjah Ladies Club Branches (SLCB) and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) are strengthening their joint support for differently-abled children by aiming to launch an early detection programme for developmental issues among children at the ten branches of SLCB’s Tala Nursery across the Emirate of Sharjah.

As the entities continue to fulfil and increase their social responsibility towards the community, SCHS experts will conduct training courses for the nurseries’ staff about the most effective early detection methods and the most appropriate educational approaches for those children with less profound issues.

SCHS will also organise periodic examinations for all SLCB nursery children, conducted by speech, auditory and visual perception specialists. Thorough early detection tests will take place at its headquarters, using the most modern medical equipment and practices, and provide SLCB representatives with the results.

As for raising awareness, SCHS will host sessions for parents to help them conduct early detection tests and demonstrate how to follow up through SCHS experts.

Under the terms of the agreement, SLCB will provide SCHS with detailed data of any cases discovered in order to gather as much information as possible on the tests’ process and progress. SLCB nurses will carry out all procedures of the children’s examination with the approval and presence of parents to ensure achieving the best results.

The agreement also means the two parties will exchange field visits to enhance cooperation between nursery teachers and SCHS employees, sharing expertise and taking part in training workshops, conferences and events.

The entities will work together to integrate the children of the Early Intervention Centre in Tala Nursery branches and will host joint events to enhance the integration of differently-abled children with their peers.
