Students say 'love you, king' with mosaic

The foundation year students of Umm Al-Qura University found a novel way to express their love and gratitude for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. A large mosaic titled “Salman Al-Saad”, which has been prepared by them, says it all.

Made from a collection of 1,943 pictures, the mosaic will be vying for a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, university dean Bakri Assas said after unveiling the masterpiece.
“It should be the largest mosaic of any king prepared by students,” he said.
Assas said that students’ work proves that King Salman’s leadership is a matter of great pride for the nation.

“The king’s wise decisions and advancement in various fields will elevate the whole nation, which is with him in all his decisions,” he added.
Ghassan Al-Noman, dean of preparatory year, who was present at the function, said the students did a great job and it is a matter of pride for the university.
Present at the mosaic unveiling ceremony were Khaled Al-Mutairi, vice dean of preparatory year, Wahib bin Dakhil Al Harbi, Ihab bin Abdul Rahim Malibari, assistant vice president for academic affairs, Ali bin Al-Zahrani and Khaled Mursi, director of public relations and media, university faculty members, administrators, technicians and students.
