The first batch of airport taxi cars was launched at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which included the full uniformity of the color of taxis inside King Abdulaziz International Airport in the distinctive green. This step aims to re-replace the taxi sector with safer vehicles and keep pace with technical developments to complement the development of the transportation system in the Kingdom's airports.
Al Safwa Limo Services, the operator of airport taxi services, announced the launch of this service by launching its first services at the beginning of this year from King Khalid International Airport in the presence of Minister of Transport, President of the General Authority for Transport and President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
On this occasion, Nasser bin Dhalif, CEO of Al Safwa Limo Services, confirmed that it was agreed to provide 1200 varied Hyundai Sonata Watch 1 model 2020, which were provided by Almajdouie Motors Company to meet the needs of airport taxi services in the Kingdom's airports, where the company has won the tender for the operation of taxi services at King Khalid International Airport, King Abdulaziz International Airport and Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport.
Bin Dhalif confirmed that according to the plan of the General Transport Authority to provide electronic payment service "Mada, Visa and MasterCard", as well as a mobile tracking feature, the provision of an emergency button plus a smart screen that displays the price, and evaluation of the trip plus security monitoring camera. He assured that the transformation of the airport taxi will not limited to the development of its exterior appearance or internal features, but there will be highly developed service cars with a unified identity, the most prominent of which is their connection to smart maps, immediate request feature through technical applications and electronic payment of the fare. The airport taxi, as well, will be equipped with safety package that includes surveillance cameras and a direct tracking device, along with screens that support both Arabic and English, all these advantages come in parallel with the start of the General Authority for Transport to implement a training program for taxi drivers throughout the Kingdom on new vehicles in order to raise the efficiency the drivers’ skills and their ability to deal with visitors, pilgrims and tourists.
Bin Dhalif concluded by saying that every visitor to the Kingdom through its airs will witness a new leap in transportation services, including the provision of a new taxi "Airport Taxi" enhanced with the latest technologies to raise efficiency and the quality of the services provided, thus enhancing the confidence of visitors from all over the world. He, as well, praised the success of the partnership with the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, and working as a team in the transportation system between the Civil Aviation Authority and the General Authority for Transport in line with the Kingdom's vision 2030
After delivering the cars to the operating company, Yousef bin Ali Almajdouie, President of Almajdouie Group, said:” The success of the first phase of the green taxi plan at King Khalid Airport in Riyadh has strengthened confidence in our services on the one hand, and Hyundai models on the other hand.
