Dr. Hitendra Patel, Founder and CEO of the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI), praised the UAE’s forward-looking vision in adopting artificial intelligence (AI) and integrating it across various sectors of life, describing the country as a global model in accelerating digital transformation and maximising the benefits of advanced technologies.
In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the Empowering Digital Societies Summit held today in Dubai, organised by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) under the theme “AI & Innovation for Inclusive Digital Future,” Dr. Patel said, “Artificial intelligence is now an inseparable part of our daily lives. It is happening faster than expected, and it is accessible to everyone – individuals, students, entrepreneurs – due to its potential to simplify life and increase efficiency, while freeing up time for more valuable tasks.”
He added, “What I’ve witnessed in the UAE reflects a deep understanding of the importance of AI. The country has rapidly embraced it in line with global shifts. The UAE is moving steadily and quickly towards a digital future and is setting an example for the region and the world.”
Commenting on the UAE government’s experience, Patel explained that the country’s robust digital infrastructure forms the cornerstone of this transformation. He noted that visitors to the UAE immediately experience its digital advancement from the moment they arrive at the airport, where smart gates and electronic tickets are used, continuing seamlessly with efficient baggage handling and timely access to transportation services.
He said, “At hotels, the check-in process is now fully digital, with staff already aware of guests’ preferences – a sign of system integration and smooth service delivery. Airports, hotels, transportation, and even daily life in the UAE are now fully digital, a result of substantial investment in digital infrastructure.”
Patel emphasised that while the government has provided all the necessary digital tools, the next step is for the private sector, business leaders and entrepreneurs to leverage these assets, asking themselves, “How can we use AI to make our businesses more productive and enhance our customers’ experiences?”
