Unmissable new stories are set to unfold at this year’s Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition

From inviting visitors to be watchmakers for a day, to offering a rare glimpse of Hollywood glamour, Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2017 (DJWE) has confirmed its position as the essential event on the international luxury exhibition calendar. Now in its fourteenth edition, the show has become a tale of art and elegance that promises to take visitors on a glamourous journey of exclusivity, legacy and unique craftsmanship.

Held between 20-25 February, this year’s DJWE brings visitors the inspiring theme of “Once upon a time… luxury” and offers a series of innovative visitor experiences that will be unveiled throughout the exhibition, page by page, to tell a series of new, unforgettable stories.

DJWE organisers have announced that world-renowned clock-specialists Objectif Horlogerie will  join DJWE this year, offering a unique, interactive workshop to attendees. In Qatar for the first time, Objectif Horlogerie will showcase the art of their master craftsmanship to watch connoisseurs, and give them the rare opportunity to become a “watchmaker-for-a-day.” Workshop attendees will observe and participate in the master watchmaker’s rituals, and at the end of the session, each participant will be awarded an accredited diploma.

Visitors will also be given the unique opportunity to enjoy a glimpse of the glamour of the past through historical black and white photography. The Harcourt Studio, who have told the story of Hollywood’s biggest stars since the 1940s, will give visitors the opportunity to have their portraits taken in the privacy of their studio, recreated outside Paris for the first time at DJWE, creating an elegant exhibition memento and their own piece of history.

Aside from its extensive offering to visitors, the fourteenth DJWE also presents outstanding local talent with the golden opportunity to showcase their handiwork side by side with international brands. The Young Qatari Designers, an initiative launched for the first time this edition, will allow emerging young Qatari designers to shine in dedicated exhibition space. Exhibiting local talents include: Fajr Al Attiya (Trifoglio); Ghada Al Bouanain (Ghada Al Bouanian); Nada Al Sulaiti (Hairaat); Noor Al Fardan (Noudar); Nouf Al Meer (Nouf Jewellery); and Sarah Al Hammadi (Sarah’s & Co).

Also, this year, a central exhibition has been specially curated to reveal exceptional, privately-owned jewellery and timepieces that have never been shown in Doha before.

This year’s edition will witness local and international exhibitors participating for the first time: from Qatar, Sarahs & Co, Paris Jewellery, Marbella, Al Darwish. As for international brands, the exhibition will host: Davidor from France, Bellina Collection from Italy, Voyageur from Lebanon, Baheti from India, Karun Jewellery from Turkey, Anan Anjamani from Thailand and Amber by Mazukna from Lithuania.

Also taking part in this year’s exhibition are a number of Qatar’s premier jewellery patrons: Al Fardan Jewellery Company, Al Majed Jewellery, Al Muftah Jewellery, Ali Bin Ali group, Amiri Gems WLL, Blue Salon and Fifty One East.

DJWE 2017 is brought to its visitors by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), who together with this year’s partners, Auditoire, gives discerning visitors an exclusive experience; one that brings together authentic hospitality with cosmopolitan sophistication.

The annual, luxury exhibition welcomes over 400 hundred brands through 40 exhibitors from 10 countries, returning to showcase their striking gemstone and accessories at Doha Exhibition and Conference Center (DECC) in the heart of Doha’s business district.

DJWE is one of the much anticipated events in Qatar’s annual calendar of events and reinforces the country’s position as a premium business events destination. Entry is free (reserved to visitors above 12) and registration can be completed at the venue or online at www.djwe.qa. This year’s official DJWE partners, Qatar Airways and Shangri-La Doha are offering travellers discounted rates to explore the exhibition and discover the endless rich experiences that Qatar has to offer.
