Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana in collaboration with Dubai Blood Donation Centre organized a blood donation drive on the 9th of April, 2015 under the slogan “Save Life, Give Blood” at Villa Rotana hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road as part of reassuring their commitment towards the community. The campaign raised awareness and resulted in gathering more than 50 colleagues who had the courage to be a donor from different departments within the three hotels.

Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and with higher quality of life, and supports complex medical and surgical procedures. It also has an essential life-saving role in maternal and perinatal care.
Commenting on the event Mr. Kinan Al Ghraoui, General Manager for Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana said that, “We have been driving the blood donation campaign within our 3 properties for several years now; it is hence become a part of our culture to support this good deed and contributing towards the participation in saving lives of many people”.
He also added that, “Rotana Earth, which is our Global Corporate Sustainability Platform, is that what helps us to reinforce a sense of social responsibility and understanding amongst the colleagues of Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana as to why we constantly strive to participate in all the community and society events,” he added.
Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana are strongly committed to social welfare and supported several community and environmental initiatives such as: Earth Hour, Energy Conservation, etc… collaborating and partnering with different government entities like, DEWA, Rashid Centre for Disabled, Dubai Autism, Dubai Police, and Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.
Ms. Nadia Abdulla Kalantar, head of marketing division and registration of blood donors at the Dubai Blood Donation Centre, spoke about the importance of effective cooperation between blood banks and the various bodies and institutions to meet the demand for blood. She also thanked Villa Rotana, Rihab Rotana and Rimal Rotana for this humanitarian gesture that will help save the lives of many who are in need of blood.
