There was a high turnout by VIP guests and students for MathAlive!, the unique interactive math and science exhibit created by the Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN)t, during a special opening ceremony VIP event at the Main Building Hall of King Saud University (KSU). The innovative traveling exhibition opened to the public on the evening of 2 October.
The exhibition’s debut in Riyadh will run through the month of October, and its Kingdom tour is part of Raytheon’s ongoing commemoration of its 50th anniversary in Saudi Arabia.
MathAlive!’s opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdullah S. Al Salman, Vice Rector - KSU and Raytheon International’s Saudi Arabia president Kurt Amend. Other special guests included Dr. Ahmed Al Aameri, Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research - KSU, Dr. Nasser M. Al Daghri, Dean- College of Science - KSU, Dr. Abdur Rehman Al Zamil of Zamil Group and Yousaf Abu Hussain, Manager Scientific Activities Office, Riyadh Region - Ministry of Education, in addition to a number of College Deans and Department Heads at KSU and a number of students from leading Riyadh-based schools.
MathAlive! offers many interactive modules that demonstrate the relationship between STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and activities such as building design, football, space travel, video games and more - bringing math and science to life for late primary and early secondary school students. The exhibit includes historical achievements of Arab mathematicians who are recognized as STEM pioneers and innovators.
