The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open (FBMLO), Abu Dhabi’s first women’s professional golf tournament taking place from 2-5 November at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, is giving UAE fans the chance to become part of history by registering as a volunteer.
The Ladies European Tour (LET) event will see some of the world’s best female golfers compete for a slice of the US$550,000 prize purse, and organisers are calling upon the local community to get involved.
Everyone from experienced golf fans to those simply looking for a unique and fun-filled experience, are encouraged to register for the four-day event. Volunteers can participate to become walking scorers, operate the leader boards, and measure the length of players’ tee shots.
The FBMLO has been organised by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) in a bid to inspire more women to take up the sport.
ADSC’s General Secretary, His Excellency Aref Al Awani, said: “Offering a volunteer programme is part of our campaign to promote women’s golf in the region and develop future generations’ interest and love for the sport.
“I personally encourage those interested to register, as being a part of the first FBMLO will be an occasion to remember,”
Blanca Rivolier, FBMLO’s Chief Marshall, commented: "FBMLO is giving the community a unique opportunity to make history together through the volunteer programme.
“We're encouraging everyone to join our volunteer team - whether you're out on the fairways everyday or new to the sport. It's a great way for club members and the larger community to support this first exclusively ladies sporting event in Abu Dhabi."
Volunteer registration is open now and anyone planning to be a part of this special event is invited to sign up online today via the FBMLO’s official website: http://fbmladiesopen.com/en/volunteer/register-your-interest.
