Winners of Saudi king’s awards for inventors and the gifted announced

The winners of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prize for Inventors and the Gifted were announced on Wednesday by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).

 

The winners were picked at a meeting chaired by KACST President Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed Al-Saud, who is also the chairman of the board of trustees of the award committee.

 

Among the winners was a research team responsible for 10 inventions on energy efficiency. It included Dr. Mahmoud Bahi Mahmoud Noureddine, Maneh Mohammed Abdullah Alaweid, Abdul Aziz Mohammed Abdullah Alniteiti and Faisal Fahd Abdul Rahman Mousa.

 

Another winning team, from Aramco research group, had made a successful invention on the extraction of oil from carbonate reservoirs. It comprised Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Yousef, Salah Hamad Al-Saleh and Dr. Abdulaziz Obaid Al-Kaabi.

 

Dr. Zain Hassan Yamani and Dr. Mohamed Nazer Sheikh were named winners for their invention on catalysts at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, while Dr. Abdullah Khalaf Howaish from the University of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal was recognized for his invention on kidney dialysis.
