The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (MAWHIBA) is a vibrant organization partnering with schools and universities throughout Saudi Arabia to support the development of talent and achievements of gifted Saudi students. MAWHIBA is the KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) most important nominating partner. Each year, MAWHIBA provides the KGSP with a list of its most talented students in the areas of science and technology. These students are then invited to apply for the KGSP Scholarship. A large percentage of KGSP students come to the program through MAWHIBA. Helping gifted students reach their full potential can take a lot of work, but it is also extremely rewarding. Countries that invest in academic excellence and nurture the talent in their brightest and best will see the benefits for years to come. Mawhiba – provides skills, training and internship opportunities to gifted students across the country. Established in 1999, Mawhiba has a 15-year strategy to create a programme that meets the needs of the nation’s most gifted children. They contribute to building a national framework for giftedness and creativity, and provide distinguished care to the gifted, while promoting passion for science and knowledge. The whole idea of the program is to make the Kingdom a knowledge-based society and provide these talented students with the leadership ability, teamwork and training for them to be useful citizens in the society and help them enable themselves adapt to their local environment
