Virtual ‘Art of Isolation’ exhibit launches in Saudi Arabia

A virtual exhibition called “The Art of Isolation” was launched on Saturday with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
It gives visitors a realistic simulation of art galleries, allowing them to view the contents of the exhibition and move between its galleries via electronic devices, and features the work of amateurs, professionals and even children. “The Art of Isolation” was launched on https://ozla.art.
Visitors click and drag to rotate the camera, using up and down keys to move forward and back. They click on the artwork or on the floor to be taken directly to the piece.
The virtual exhibition is an initiative from the Mayadeen Group in a partnership with Saudi Telecom Co., to encourage Saudi artists to share work created during the Kingdom’s coronavirus lockdown period and put them on display for the public in an electronic space that simulates the conditions of a real exhibition.
It is the first exhibition of its kind in Saudi Arabia, investing in virtual reality technology to provide a complete digital experience for visitors at home.
The ministry aims to encourage innovation in the cultural field and to enhance the virtual presence of cultural events during the quarantine period.
