400 Women and Girls Celebrate Fitness at Sharjah Colour Run

In keeping with its dedication to promoting awareness about the importance of regular exercise and the role of sports in enhancing physical and emotional health and wellbeing, Sharjah Ladies Club Branches (SLCB) organised the Sharjah Colour Run on Friday (23 February), at Al Bataeh Ladies Park in Sharjah. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout of 400 female participants, including women and girls.

Sponsored by National Paints; Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah; Souq Al Jubail; Al Rawabi and Technogym Fitness Company, the event featured a host of interactive games and activities on the side, including Zumba and aerobics led by expert instructors. Technogym tested the endurance and stamina of participants through a series of high intensity physical activities, and Al Zahra Hospital offered free medical examination to all participating women and girls.

The enthusiastic participation by women and girls who used the Sharjah Colour Run platform to interact and exchange ideas with likeminded participants, found the experience to be extremely positive and fun-filled, saying the run as well as the allied activities felt truly enriching and inspiring to them.

Asmaa Al Hamsha, Head of Corporate Communication at SLCB, said: “At SLCB, we are dedicated to ensuring that we continually encourage our members to be healthy and in doing so we organise a series of interactive and engaging activities through the year that blend leisure and entertainment with sports. We seek to encourage our members to exercise and increase their engagement with sports so they can enjoy a life full of vigour. Sharjah Colour Run was conceptualised in line with our vision to highlight the importance of sports and its positive impact on human life.”

The event featured food and beverage outlets serving healthy refreshments to participants. These included Marasi Contemporary Dining, which is the main restaurant at  SLCB.

Sharjah Ladies Club is one of the premiere leisure destinations for women in UAE. It provides premium services and boasts an array of facilities, making it one of the best-of-its-kind clubs in the Middle East.

In line with the vision of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), ten branches of SLC were established across the Emirate of Sharjah, in the Central and Eastern Regions at Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, Wadi Al Helo, Al Dhaid, Mleiha, Al Bataeh, Al Hamriya, Al Thamid and Al Madam.
