NWC lifts Riyadh’s Heet plant capacity to 400,000 m3/day at SR 387m+

The National Water Company (NWC), represented by its Central Cluster, has completed the implementation of the third phase of the wastewater treatment plant (STP) south of the capital, Riyadh. This is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure in the environmental services sector and implementing its plans to expand coverage and improve operational efficiency at a total cost of more than 387 million Saudi Riyals.

 

The company said: "The third phase of the plant works on the technology of tertiary treatment of wastewater, with a design capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day, which will increase its total capacity in its three phases to 400,000 cubic meters per day” NWC stressed that the project aims to eliminate damage, support environmental balance, and improve the quality of services provided to customers in Riyadh city.

 

The company elaborated that the project is one of the strategic projects that contributes to the development of the wastewater treatment system, improve the efficiency of treatment and absorb the increase in expected wastewater flows as a result of urban expansion and increasing population growth witnessed by the capital, Riyadh.

 

NWC pointed out that it is currently implementing a number of strategic projects aimed at developing infrastructure and upgrading environmental services in the capital. The company stressed its commitment to continue implementing its strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency in the water and environmental services sectors at the national level according to the highest standards of quality and performance, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030.
