Traditional fare at Al Iwan

Observing an integral part of Emirati Eid Al Adha traditions, Al Iwan restaurant is serving a special camel ouzi and a wide selection of delectable Emirati-inspired desserts.

Camel Ouzi

Prepared by Chef Hussain Dagher, the Chef de Cuisine of Al Iwan, the Ouzi braised baby camel has been assembled using Omani mandi rice, traditionally garnished with yellow lentils, golden raisins, saffron, turmeric crispy egg and Emirati tree nuts; served alongside homemade ‘Markourk Bread’. This flavoursome dish, fit for the royals, will be made available to restaurant and hotel guests throughout Eid Al Adha. 

 

Desserts  

The exceptionally talented Emirati Pastry Chef Sahar Al Awadhi worked in collaboration with executive pastry Chef Johannes Bonin to prepare a selection of delicious Emirati inspired desserts. She takes Emirati cuisine to the world by giving local delicacies a delicious contemporary twist. 

 

  • Try the Chebab, a crepe layer cake with orange cream cheese diplomat cream, drizzled with date syrup.
  • Or sample the Bethitha & Dark Treacle Tart served alongside crème fraiche and toasted vermicelli almond tuile.
  • The Farni, with elderflower/litchi macerated strawberries and raspberries, cannot be missed.
  • Also sample the Legeimat, doughnuts filled with custard and date jam, dusted with cardamom, almond sugar served with Arabic coffee, caramel or date syrup. 

 

Talise Spa
