The artificial intelligence (AI) will contribute to the creation of 69 million jobs over the next five years, said Abdullah Alghamdi, President of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA), citing a report by the World Economic Forum.
He added that the generative AI will enhance the current human jobs rather than eliminating them through automating some tasks, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Alghamdi indicated that the current development of the labor market towards the use of AI is not necessarily a threat to jobs, but rather an opportunity to enhance human capabilities and find innovative solutions if applied properly in accordance with relevant policies and regulations.
In general, the person who uses AI will have priority for the available vacant jobs, the official noted, indicating that statistics show that approximately 77% of companies around the world are facing difficulty in finding the talents they need in 2023, compared with 38% in 2015.
