Al Majaz Waterfront is decorated and adorned with brightly coloured Ramadan lights, spectacular ornaments inspired by Islamic arts, lanterns swaying on trees and other attractions scattered among its walkways, transforming it into a picturesque haven of tranquillity and joy.
Situated on the picturesque Khalid Lagoon, among lush green parks, Al Majaz Waterfront is one of the premier attractions for visitors during Ramadan, thanks in part to the sports and leisure facilities it offers or the cultural attractions, for example the nearby Al Taqwa mosque.
Another classic element is the Sharjah Fountain, which features thrilling water displays synchronised to a musical score, with big screens that combine lasers, light, video and audio for a spectacular piece of art.
For the sixth consecutive year, Al Majaz Waterfront is featuring the Iftar Canon, one of the emirate’s most iconic events, which is broadcast live on Sharjah TV every day throughout Ramadan, in collaboration with Sharjah Police.
Al Majaz Waterfront welcomes visitors to its hospitality tent each day after the Taraweeh prayers, and offers them water, dates and Arabic coffee, in keeping with the age-old traditions of the UAE’s renowned hospitality in the holy month.
There are also several international brand restaurants and cafés which offer reduced-price Iftar and Suhoor offerings, including Zaroob, TGI Fridays and El Manza.
During the blessed month of Ramadan, there is an even higher than usual number of sportsmen and women making the most of the comfortable, safe and environmentally-friendly jogging track, set unobtrusively among the palm trees, flowerbeds and landscaped gardens.
Young visitors have everything they need to enjoy the day at Al Majaz Waterfront, with their own play areas The open-air playground features an array of games, including mini golf, to encourage and develop sports skills in children aged two to twelve years old.
