An art exhibition and charity gala dinner for Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and chairman of the board of trustees of Alfaisal University was hosted on the university premises last week.
The exhibition, which started on April 6 at King Faisal Palace inside the university campus in Almaathar district, will continue for two weeks.
As many as 30 paintings are on display at the exhibition, all of which have been donated to Alfaisal University by the prince. They were to be sold in public auction with the proceeds going to the Endowment Fund at Alfaisal University. Experts and specialists in charity auctions expect a large number of visitors who are interested in the art school of Prince Khaled because of the high value and uniqueness of his artworks.
Dr. Mohammed Alhayaza, president of Alfaisal University, is grateful for the generous donation of Prince Khaled. He said, “Although he has many responsibilities he has always been supportive to the university during its journey. He is always keen on the development and growth of the university until it became a distinct educational institution.”
The exhibition will move to Jeddah and Paris this summer.
Alfaisal University is a non-profit institution, which is ranked 4th overall among the public and private universities in the Kingdom.
