Aloft Dubai South, the “home away from home” destination nestled in the heart of the vibrant Dubai South district, embraced the spirit of giving this Ramadan by distributing Iftar packs to taxi drivers who drove through the hotel’s entrance at sunset on April 14.
The initiative was part of Marriott International’s annual ‘Iftar for Cabs’ social impact programme during the Holy Month of Ramadan, which began 10 years ago but was halted for two years in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year, Aloft Dubai South prepared Iftar packs with fruits, nuts, dates, salad, biryani and juice so that taxi drivers could take a moment to break their fast and enjoy a wholesome meal.
“Ramadan is a time for showing compassion and sharing. The Holy Month provides us with yet another opportunity to give back to the essential workers who labour from dawn to dusk to make our lives more convenient every day. We are thrilled to have participated in Marriott International’s ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative this year with our team ensuring that the drivers were served healthy meals to break their fast,” says Varun Ahuja, The Director of Sales at Aloft Dubai South.
“Aloft Dubai South aims to be an ambassador of the community, and our small effort towards spreading smiles among these taxi drivers is just one of the many ways we hope to continue our social outreach and impact.”
