Audi Al Nabooda, the official Audi dealer for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has announced a series of stimulating talks from inspiring national and international speakers as part of their celebrations this Ramadan.
Designed to provide thought-provoking conversation with fascinating figures from the UAE and beyond, the Audi Ramadan Majlis series is open to the public and will take place at 22:00 on Wednesday 23rd and 30th May and Sunday 3rd June.
Speakers include: aspiring astronaut and winner of the Genes in Space competition, Alia Al Mansoori; Emirati figure skater Zahra Lari, the first woman to compete in international figure-skating wearing a hijab; self-taught mountain climber Sherif El Husseni; Cultural Ambassador of the Middle East, Ali Al Saloom; and “Mission to the Moon” member, Torsten Kriening

Humanities next big leap: Alia Al Mansoori and Torsten Kriening

Emirati teenager Alia Al Mansoori was the winner of the 2017 Genes in Space UAE competition, and her experiment was loaded onto the August 2017 SpaceX CRS-12 mission. She has ambitions to become the first Emirati woman to visit Mars.
Torsten Kriening is one of the brains behind PTScientists MISSION TO THE MOON, the first private mission to go to the Moon. Featuring an autonomous landing and a navigation module, the aim of the mission is to recreate the Apollo Moment. The Audi lunar quattro will explore what happened to the remains of the previous lunar rovers in a bid to provide information on the spheric circumstances on the moon in preparation for humanities next big leap – settle on the Moon.
Join these inspirational scientists as they discuss the near future of space exploration, and the UAE’s role, moderated by Mohammed Al Otaiba, former Editor in Chief of the National.
Against all odds: Zahra Lari and Sherif El Husseini

Zahra Lari was the first woman to compete internationally, in the sport of figure skating, while wearing the hijab and has helped the United Arab Emirates become the first Arab state to join the International Skating Union [ISU] despite the near-complete absence of snow and ice in the Gulf region.
Sherif El Husseini is an amateur mountain climber, who taught himself all about this sport, while living in Egypt and UAE. He plans to conquer all “7 Summits”, with six climbed to date.
Hear how these motivating athletes looked past the limits and overcame many challenges through their passion and courage.
Be a Pioneer or Disappear: Ali Al Saloom

One of the fastest rising media stars and public speakers in the Gulf, Ali Al Saloom has been recognized for his work as a cultural & tourism ambassador for the UAE.
Ali will discuss how cultural background is important, and how heritage can inspire others to become pioneers and build global cultural bridges in everything they will be part of in their future.
The talks will take place on the 2nd floor mezzanine level at the Audi Al Nabooda showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road and will be delivered in English.
