Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman launched a number of developmental projects and services worth over SR219 million in the historic city of Badr.
He met the people of Badr and highlighted the historic and importance of the city for tourism. He talked about strengthening tourism programs and facilities for tourists and visitors to the region, according to Shariah principles, and guidelines and cooperation between related sectors.
He also headed a joint meeting of local and municipal councils during which he talked about major projects in the health, educational, civic and social sectors, besides roads and other developmental projects.
He also emphasized on the cooperation and coordination between all sectors to achieve the objectives of the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for the comfort and welfare of people.
Prince Faisal lauded the cooperation between the tourism commission and the municipality in Badr which will lead to improvements at the seaside to make it attractive for investments and create jobs for the people of the region. He said that all partners are working in the public interest.
The governor emphasized on closely following all projects including that of Badr General Hospital, and higher education for boys and girls as the region needs.
The members of the councils thanked the governor for his interest in improvement of services in the region by visiting the area and meeting its people.
The projects inaugurated by Prince Faisal include buildings for the police department of Badr and the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Haia); a social development center; social insurance; Al-Musaijid Cultural Center; Badr-Yanbu road second and third phase; project of 30 residential units of the welfare fund of Badr; project of 40 residential units of the Al-Birr Association of Al-Musaijid Center; and welfare bakeries project.
He also laid the foundation stone for a number of municipal and welfare projects, including the building of Badr Municipality, asphalting of a number of localities, and other such projects.
In his presence, an agreement was signed between the tourism commission of the region and the municipality to improve the seaside of the region in Al-Rais center.
At the end of the ceremony, the governor honored Awadhullah Enayatullah Al-Sobhi, the director of the welfare fund, for his personal efforts in human and social services in Badr.
