Big 5 Construct Saudi enters second week, highlighting functional design, finishing solutions and architectural advancements

The second week of Big 5 Construct Saudi was inaugurated by Mohammed Abdulaziz Alajlan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center at Roshn Front in the presence of Matt Denton, President, dmg events.

 

In the second week, running from 24 – 27 February, the event covers the finishing touches of construction projects with six specialized co-located events, including Windows, Doors & Facades Saudi Arabia, Marble and Stone Saudi Arabia, Heavy Saudi Arabia, Saudi FM & Clean, Urban Design and Landscape Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Hospital Design & Build Expo. 

 

“With another busy week ahead of us, comprising business making, networking and knowledge sharing, Big 5 Construct Saudi deep dives into the final phases of construction,” said Muhammed Kazi, Senior Vice President – Construction, at dmg events. “From fit-out innovations and interior solutions to sustainability-driven building practices, this week is where vision meets execution. By bringing industry leaders together, in its second week the event provides an opportunity to buyers as they explore new products, solutions, systems and technologies that shape the Kingdom’s built environment.”

 

Setting the tone for the future of architecture and design

 

One of the key highlights is the two-day Architect Leaders Forum Saudi which takes place on 24-25 February. The opening session led by Mahmoud Abughazal, Corporate Director of Architecture Services at Omrania emphasized the intersection of technology, sustainability and cultural identity in architectural development in the Kingdom’s architectural landscape.  

 

Fellow speakers from Aseer Development Authority (ASDA), Francesca Arici, Chief of Planning and Development and Waleed Shaalan, Design Consultant and Advisor brought to the fore the importance of historical design practices for contemporary architects, further highlighting the significance of integrating sustainable materials, climate-responsive strategies and human-centric urban planning to create resilient, efficient and culturally enriched modern urban environments.

 

In an engaging panel discussion, moderated by Christina Bahou, Associate Architect, Perkins Eastman, speakers Samer Mansour, Design Director, Principal, DnA Interiors; Hala Lloyd, Director of Project Design Management, Buro Happold; Maxwell Connop, Regional Practice Lead, AtkinsRéalis and Mahmoud Abughazal, Corporate Director of Architecture Services at Omrania highlighted  architectural storytelling has been playing an important role in preserving cultural heritage in the Kingdom while embracing modernity, creating spaces that balance aesthetic vision with functionality.

 

Façade and architectural advancements draw attention

 

On the exhibition floor, exhibitors and their innovative products and services kept visitors busy, where Schüco showcased its advanced façade systems, energy-efficient windows and modern building envelope solutions. Commenting on the company’s participation at Big 5 Construct Saudi, Ammar H. Another exhibitor that attracted visitors’ attention with its high-performance aluminum systems, sustainable building solutions and advanced architectural designs was ALUMIL Middle East. "ALUMIL Middle East is excited to showcase our latest innovations at Windows, Doors and Facades Event Saudi, co-located with Big 5 Construct Saudi, reinforcing our commitment to delivering top-quality aluminum architectural systems that enhance performance and aesthetics,” noted Andreas Giannaros, General Manager at ALUMIL Middle East. 

 

Further reinforcing the exhibition’s role in driving industry-wide growth, Teef Najd also made a strong impact. Nabil P.
