Saudi Arabia recorded on Friday 398 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, 37 less from Thursday’s figure of 435, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
Twenty more patients died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, the ministry said.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 346,880 and virus-related fatalities to 5,383.
The ministry also reported 433 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 333,409 with the recovery
rate rising to 96.11 percent.
Of the new cases, Riyadh recorded the highest with 53 followed by Madinah with 48, Yanbu with 38, and Jeddah with 37 infections.
The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.
Meanwhile, active cases have also significantly dropped with 8,088 reported on Friday, out of which 766 are critical, the statement added.
