Cengage, a global education and technology company, provided higher education representatives from the Middle East with a range of digital solutions at The Digital Education Show Middle East 2016. The event took place from November 14 to 17 at The Conrad, Dubai.
The company focused on conveying the benefits of a range of digital platforms including MindTap, WebAssign, OWLv2, Aplia and SAM to visitors. Ahmed Abdel Salam delivered a presentation on “Engaging Millennials in their World” to delegates and he explored solutions that deliver relevant content, contemporary tools and an environment that makes it accessible and engaging for today’s student.
Cengage has built relationships with several UAE universities including Abu Dhabi University, American University Sharjah and Institute of Applied Technology. The United Arab Emirates University’s Mathematical Science department has adopted Cengage’s WebAssign and is seeing a myriad benefits including increased attendance levels and improved grades. Over 1.5 million students use WebAssign each year and a recent study demonstrated that 85% of students believe WebAssign positively impacted their exam grades.
MindTap for Math and Science, an all-in-one learning solution powered by an advanced quantitative answer evaluation and grading engine, is another key product that meets the needs of today's college students and instructors in math, statistics, and physics.
Andrew Robinson, Director of Higher Education at Cengage Learning comments: “The GCC region, and particularly the UAE, is very progressive when it comes to providing its student body with the very latest, most effective teaching methods. The UAE is focusing on advancing its teaching and learning methods in schools and universities to offer quality education and that is why we took part in the exhibition. It’s not just about us providing products to meet today’s requirement, it’s also about us assessing what the future will bring in the GCC and how we can effectively gear up to provide solutions for tomorrow’s generation of educators and scholars.
“The Digital Education Show provided the ideal platform for us to engage with the region’s most senior decision makers in the education market and listen to their ever evolving needs. We have a suite of products to offer, all of which have been developed in response to teaching and learning requirements following extensive consultation and engagement
