Diriyah Gate Development Authority Supports King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center With the Distribution of 235 Tons of Diriyah Dates to Countries in Need

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), in line with its efforts to fully-utilize Diriyah's agricultural resources as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), delivered 235 tons of Diriyah farm dates to the center. KSRelief will later distribute these dates to those in need in a number of different countries. The agreement will promote regular cooperation, enhance humanitarian initiatives, and streamline utilization of resources between both parties.

The MoU also outlines an annual date harvest distribution drive from designated sites within DGDA's jurisdiction to KSrelief's beneficiaries worldwide. DGDA will prepare each relief package in line with the center's set standards and guidelines.

This agreement taps into Diriyah’s significant date production, with farms that are famous for their many date varieties, which are harvested in the hundreds of tons each year. The most beloved and well-known of these include the Al-Munifi, Nabbut Seif, Al-Silj, Al-Barhi, Khalas, and Al-Saq'I varieties, all of which have high nutritional value.

The MoU between DGDA and KSrelief also provides a host of volunteering opportunities for the authority's employees and members of the Diriyah community through KSrelief's projects and initiatives. Furthermore, it helps bring awareness to the center's humanitarian relief activities abroad to the local community, promotes the exchange of relevant studies, statistics, and reports, and aids the organization of various joint initiatives and programs.
