Visitors to the Iraqi Pavilion at Souk Okaz have been learning more about the country’s rich and diverse heritage, and sampling some of its traditional cuisine, especially dolma, a popular dish.
Tourists have also been able to learn more about some of the country’s traditional industry, with a tour of the pavilion providing information on silver ring making, including how they are inlaid with precious stones. The pavilion also features displays of paintings representing Iraqi art.
Other products on display in the pavilion include examples of dallah, or coffee pots, and traditional copper bowls. A cinema is showing documentaries and historical films about the development of Iraqi civilization, and there is a theatre, with performances that reflect the country’s culture and heritage.
