Dubai Supreme Council of Energy puts spotlight on 3rd Emirates Energy Award 2017 in Saudi Arabia

As part of its efforts to attract the best innovations in the region and worldwide, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) puts the spotlight on the 3rd Emirates Energy Award (EEA 2017) that is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai under the theme ‘Innovative Solutions for Clean Energy’.

The EEA 2017 was highlighted at a press conference held in Riyadh, KSA, in the presence of representatives of a wide range of energy- related organisations, companies as well as research centres and officials from the Saudi energy sector along Saudi media members.

The press conference was addressed by a delegation representing DSCE, including Mr. Omar Al Qurashi, Vice Chairman of EEA Marketing and Events, Mr. Naser Al Shaiba, Director of Environment, Health, Safety and Climate Change, DSCE and Mr. Ali Al Suwaidi, Manager of Corporate Communications, DSCE, and member of the EEA marketing and events committee.

Many universities, research centres and companies concerned with renewable energy, environment, water and energy have attended the press conference. The DSCE delegation reviewed the award goals and highlighted the fact that it targets individuals and organisations across Middle East & North Africa (MENA). The delegation also explained that EEA encourages researchers to be innovative in creating new technics related to renewable energy generation and ways to save energy and water consumption. EEA also promotes the optimal use of natural resources to preserve them for the generations to come. The delegation addressed all questions and inquiries related to the award. The discussion in the press conference also focused on how to convert creative ideas pertaining to renewable and clean energy into ambitious projects that can improve technical means and maximise efficiency to achieve sustainable development.

“Saudi Arabia is one of the significant countries to promote EEA. The renewable energy sector in the Kingdom is achieving regular advancements as it creates ways to conserve water and energy. That's why we believe the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a real partner in sustainable development. EEA provides an opportunity to highlight innovations before some of the biggest companies in the energy sector worldwide. It provides participants a platform for exchanging ideas,” said HE Ahmad Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE), and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Emirates Energy Award (EEA).

“We count on Saudi participants to present their best innovations, technologies and solutions to enrich the award and be part of the prestigious competition,” added HE Ahmad Buti Al Muhairbi. 

EEA has 10 categories with gold, silver and bronze medals in each category. These include: Energy Efficiency-Public Sectors, Energy Efficiency-Private Sector, Large Energy Project, Small Energy Project, Connecting Solar Power to Buildings Project for Large Projects (more than 500 KW),  Connecting Solar Power to Buildings Project for Small Projects (less than 500 KW), Education and Capacity Building  (Gold, Silver, and Bronze), Research & Development Young Professional Energy Award, and Special Recognition Award.
