The launch of this campaign was timed to synchronize with the implementation of the Royal decree allowing women to drive, and it includes a variety of activities including lectures and seminars for both male and female students at universities in the main cities of Saudi Arabia. The events aim to raise awareness about road safety under the supervision of experts and specialists in traffic safety, followed by a test-drive simulation program, based on augmented reality 4D technology, developed to educate students on safe driving measures and methods.
Throughout the campaign, all road safety measures, along with raising of traffic safety awareness among students, will be highlighted, answering students’ questions and queries about traffic laws and regulations, and focusing on proper driving methods and techniques as the basis for the safety of all road users. Various promotional materials, including leaflets and flyers, will be distributed urging the students to abide by all traffic rules to make the road safer and more secure. To make sure the safety message is shared as widely as possible, the campaign will partner with various media outlets, social networking and outdoor advertising.
Mr. Mike Song, Head of Middle East and Africa Region at Hyundai Motor Company, said: “Following the great success of last year's campaign and the positive feedback from the community in general, and the students in particular, we decided to launch a similar campaign that reflects Hyundai Motor’s strategy and vision to maintain the highest levels of traffic safety for all road users, as well as mitigate the loss of lives, properties and opportunities.
“Hyundai hopes to assist all community members to enjoy safe and proper driving aboard Hyundai cars, in addition to raising awareness and improving road safety, as we believe that education and awareness can achieve a sustainable improvement in the protection of our communities.”
The campaign represents an integral part of Hyundai's commitment to its social responsibility towards the community in which it operates. The program is designed to enhance road safety and traffic culture among students, and to encourage participants to share road safety culture among their peers and members of their community.
