The stylish KAFDS restaurant is transporting guests to the Autumn food festivals of Italy with its seasonal new menu
Inspired by the changing seasons of Italy, a time when harvest and food festivals sweep through the country, Il Baretto Riyadh has unveiled its new Autumn menu. Launching on 21st September, the new menu takes guests on a culinary journey through Italy’s rich and diverse regions and its most famous Autumn produce. The new menu was created by group head chef Alex Simone, whose passion for seasonality and fresh flavours supports both local and Italian producers.
The latest in chef Simon’s thrice-yearly menu changes across its Riyadh and London outlets, the new dishes transport guests to the warm glow of an Autumn day in Italy - its sun-dappled hills and the family-run trattorias of Tuscany, Liguria and Piedmont. Nine hearty new additions feature, perfect for bringing loved ones together. Starters include the decadent Crème Brûlée al Foi Gras e Tartufo Nero (foie gras crème brùlee with black truffle, toasted brioche and pickles), comforting Zuppa di Zucca (pumpkin soup with gorgonzola and croutons) and Risotto ai Funghi Porcini (acquerello rice with ceps mushroom and aged parmesan cheese). For something lighter, Fagiolini, Cargiofi e Caprino (green beans and artichokes with honey and roasted goat’s cheese), Mele e Sedano Rapa (celeriac and apple salad with gorgonzola dressing and roasted whole nuts).
A highlight of any visit to Il Barreto, the new pasta dish includes the rich Tortelle di Patate con Funghi Trifolati (homemade tortelli filled with creamy ratte potatoes and wild mushroom). Mains, or ‘secondi’, include Filetto di Agnello in Crosta (lamb loin Wellington with ceps, artichokes alla Romana) or a nourishing Filetto di Dentice (fresh red snapper fillet with spicy lentils pure wild mushroom and crispy kale) – an ode to produce of both the land and sea. Guests can also indulge in Il Baretto’s new Autumn side order, a Patate Gratinate al Tartufo, the ultimate comfort food with gratin potatoes and creamy parmesan and truffle sauce.
The new menu will be available from 21st September in Il Baretto Riyadh’s KAFD restaurant.
