IN 2024, NWC distributes and treats +5.8b m3 water and constructs 111,000 house connections

The National Water Company (NWC) revealed that it has distributed more than 3.7 billion cubic meters of drinking water in various regions of the Kingdom in the previous year 2024. The company confirmed that it has also succeeded in treating more than 2.1 billion cubic meters of wastewater during 2024. 

NWC explained that these accomplishments are a continuation of the Kingdom's efforts to increase the efficiency of its operational system in the water and sanitation services sectors and an expansion of the provision of reliable and comprehensive services to meet the growing demand for water and keep pace with the comprehensive development witnessed by the Kingdom. 

The company confirmed that it has conducted more than 3. 1 million tests to analyze drinking water samples in the Kingdom during 2024, after collecting more than 310,000 samples through modern smart boxes that document the periods of sample taking, and record them with time and date through a technical chip and upload it directly to the monitoring and control room in laboratories that include specialized observers working around the clock to ensure the stowage and testing of samples. NWC indicated that 14 laboratories have obtained ISO 17025 certification from the Saudi Accreditation Center. (SAAC).

The company explained that it has extended about 111,000 home connections for water and sewerage services during 2024, with the implemented connections for water services amounting to 74,000 home connections, and the implemented connections for wastewater services amounting to about 37,000 home sanitation connections. 

NWC stated that it always seeks to achieve water security, preserve and protect the environment, raise operational efficiency, and expand the coverage of water and sanitation services to support economic growth and improve the quality of life to reflect the ambitious aspirations of the Kingdom.
