The National Water Company (NWC), represented by its Central Cluster, has completed the implementation of the project to supply desalinated water to three governorates in the Riyadh region, including Dhruma, Al Muzahimiyah, and Al-Quwaiyah, in addition to Al Qiddiya project west of Riyadh. This is part of the company’s continuous efforts and with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s support to implement its strategic plans to establish infrastructure in both the water and environmental services sectors, at a cost of about 400 million Saudi Riyals.
NWC indicated that the water supply project comprised the implementation of transmission lines of different diameters with a total length of 172 kilometers, in addition to the construction of 6 operational reservoirs for the total project capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day to improve the water services quality provided to more than 270,000 beneficiaries.
The company explained that the project aims to strengthen the infrastructure, increase operational efficiency, improve the quality of services provided to customers, keep up with the growing demand for water, and achieve water security in line with the comprehensive urban renaissance witnessed by the Kingdom.
NWC emphasized that it continues at double-quick pace to implement many of its initiatives related to vital infrastructure projects, completing them on time, and working to provide sustainable water services of high quality in accordance with the highest standards; to keep pace with performance indicators, upgrade the level of services provided, and achieve the objectives of this important vital sector, in accordance with the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030.
