Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman, who visited the King Fahd Exhibition in Riyadh, said here that the next venue of the show will be Madinah to enable people in that part of the Kingdom to get to know the services rendered by the late king.
The prince was accompanied to the show by Prince Faisal bin Ahmed bin Salman, Prince Fahd bin Faisal bin Salman, and Prince Ahmed bin Faisal bin Salman. Prince Faisal said that the services of the late king had greatly benefited the people and the country in general. He added that the expansion of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah was initiated during his regime. Therefore, he added that it is only right to have the next venue of the exhibition in Madinah in appreciation of the king’s services. On public demand, the show, which was scheduled for two weeks, has been extended to April 18.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman inaugurated the exhibition and conference on the history of late King Fahd at the Riyadh International Exhibition and Conference Center on March 31. King Salman launched an encyclopedia on the biography of King Fahd, prepared by the King Abdul Aziz Foundation (Darah) in 10 volumes. In addition to the encyclopedia, four new books were also launched on the occasion.
The event included a series of seminars and an exhibition to highlight the achievements of King Fahd. The program, organized by the children and grandchildren of King Fahd, was held in collaboration with the King Abdul Aziz Foundation (Darah) titled “Fahd...The Spirit of Leadership.” According to Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd, it took nearly two years to prepare for this exhibition which focused on the youth of the Kingdom. “King Fahd was a leader who had served all sectors of the community. Being the minister of education, the late king did his best to raise the education level of the population by providing better facilities, services and scholarships,” the prince said.
During the seminars, some 29 speakers and historical researchers presented 40 papers and studies through seven sessions. In addition to activities for families, youth and children, there were 55 training workshops on the qualities of leadership for youth, and nurturing leadership in the child, under the supervision of 25 trainers with an attendance of 2,500 participants.
The exhibition includes an interactive display which presents the biography of King Fahd, his personal belongings, the decorations and badges he was bestowed with, official documents, several manuscripts, documentaries and 1,000 images, some of them published for the first time. The organizing committee of the exhibition and conference, headed by Prince Mohammed bin Fahd, launched a website on the occasion: www.kingfahad.sa.
