The MiSK Art Institute, an affiliate of Muhammad Bin Salman Foundation "MiSK Foundation", recently honored 42 pioneers of culture and art from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.
The function was held under the patronage of Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan, minister of culture, at the King Salman Theater in Riyadh Schools.
The celebration was attended by Chairman of MiSK Initiative Center, at MiSK Foundation, Bader Al Asaker and Sheikh Shakhbut Bin Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, the Emirates' Ambassador to the Kingdom.
The ceremony included an arts exhibition, held on the sidelines of the function that showcased the works of the honored artists, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said
The objective was to highlight the efforts they exerted in serving art through their creative works, which contributed to spreading beauty in the local and regional cultural scene.
This honoring of these artists is meant to encourage talent and stimulate artists toward expressing their thoughts and feelings through creative, aesthetic methods that will raise the arts to levels influencing the society’s taste, awareness and ideas.
This is the second ceremony for honoring artists by the MiSK Art Institute, after the one held last year, when 43 prominent male and female Saudi artists received accolades.
It is noteworthy that MiSK Art Institute is deemed a platform for supporting art and artists and creative works under the care of MiSK Foundation, which was established by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, in 2011.
Meanwhile, the institute was established in 2017, so as to encourage young local talents and raise the standard of Saudi and Arab arts and enable cultural exchange and dialogue with the world.
