NWC starts pumping desalinated water to 100,000 beneficiaries in Dhahran

The National Water Company (NWC), represented by its Eastern Cluster, has announced that it will start pumping desalinated water to the districts of Doha, Dana, King Fahd College of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Al-Jami’ah and Sulaimaniya in Dhahran. This comes after the company has completed the connection work, pumping and distribution of desalinated water from the tanks of the University district in Dhahran as part of the project to improve water networks in the city of Dammam - Project No. (5). NWC pointed out that this is one of the most important rapid achievements in the projects of the program to improve the quality of drinking water in the Eastern Province.

The company said: “This project is part of NWC’s ongoing efforts to implement its strategic infrastructure readiness plans in both the water and environmental sectors. It builds on the company's initiatives to increase coverage, improve operational efficiency and meet the increasing demand for water due to the extensive development that the Eastern Province is experiencing. The company is committed to maximizing the use of all available resources to achieve a sustainable water supply."

NWC also mentioned that more than 100,000 beneficiaries in the affected districts will benefit from the latest pumping operation. The company is pumping up to 50,000 cubic meters of water daily to meet all the needs of the residents of these districts.

The company is acting to make its quick profits from the projects to improve water quality in the Eastern Province, which, God willing, will lead to many districts in Dammam, Khobar, Al-Ahsa, Qatif and Jubail being supplied with desalinated water. NWC is keen to realize its goals and strategies and improve the quality of services provided to customers in order to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals.
