NWC stated that it is racing time and exerting huge efforts to finish the 3rd phase of strategic storage project in Faisalyah, Jeddah. The Company is installing 4 calendric iron tanks with storage capacity of one million m3, worth SAR 452 million. NWC noted that these tanks should inter into service by the 3rd quarter of 2016.
Eng. Slaeh Saadawi, Senior Director, NWC Capital Projects Office, Western Area, that the execution of the 3rd phase of the project comes within the concept of water security that comprises launching a pack of huge projects for securing strategic storage of potable water. As one of the international optimum applications for meeting the seasonal rise in demand on water, the installation of huge strategic water tanks that secure water reserves to cover water supply shortages in cases of periodical maintenance, or emergency cases in desalination and transportation systems.
Eng. Saadawi explained that strategic storage project in Faisalyah, Jeddah aims to finish water shortage problem, and meet water demand in highly populated new communities. He noted that the capacity of the 3rd phase reaches one million m3, worth SAR 452 million. The tanks shall enter into service by the summer of 2016. The project comprises 4 tanks, each with the capacity of 250,000 m3.
