Saudi Arabia localizes sales, procurement professions from today

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) announced today, Dec. 24, the Saudization of sales, procurement, and project management professions.

The move comes in coordination with the supervisory authorities, the ministry said, noting that the previously announced grace period has ended.

This is part of HRSD's efforts to provide a stimulating, productive, and stable work environment for citizens across the Kingdom. This is in addition to enhancing their participation in the labor market and strengthening their contribution to the economic system.

The decision includes Saudizing 15% of sales professions, including sales manager, retail manager, sales specialist, wholesale manager, IT sales specialist, and sales representative.

It also covers the Saudization of procurement professions by 50%, including procurement manager, procurement representative, contracts manager, tender specialist, and procurement specialist.

The project management professions were also localized by 35%, including project manager, project management specialist, project office specialist, communications project manager, and business services project manager.
