Saudi Minister of Transport, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Transport Authority, Dr. Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi, accompanied by the President of the Public Transport Authority, Dr. Rumaih AL-Rumaih visited here today the port of Shanghai.
This visit came during the participation of Dr. Al-Amoudi within the Kingdom's delegation in the works of "The second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation ".
During the visit, the Minister was briefed on latest techniques being used in container handling and facilitating access to and departure from the port, as the port of Shanghai is considered the largest port in the world.
Dr. Al-Amoudi met with the Chairman of China Ocean Shipping Company Limited (COSCO), one of the world's largest shipping companies.
The meeting discussed opportunities to develop the relationship with the Chinese company and transfer its expertise to Saudi ports in important aspects such as handling centers and transshipment techniques.
Dr. Al-Amoudi concluded his tour by stressing the keenness of the Saudi ports to strengthen the partnership with the Chinese side, especially as China occupies a leading position in exporting goods by sea to world markets.
