ServeU’s CSR Campaign Kicks Off With Clean-Up Drive In Umm Suqeim Beach

ServeU, the facilities management subsidiary of Union Properties, kicked off its 2018 CSR campaign today with a clean-up project in Umm Suqeim Beach.  Aimed at highlighting the importance of environmental protection, this pilot project is part of the company’s CSR commitment to the Year of Zayed initiative, which focuses on sustainability as one of its key values.

ServeU is strengthening its CSR efforts this year, targeting to launch a new initiative every two months or at least one project every quarter. This is in line with its strategy directed primarily towards the development of a new growth era for the company.

Mr. Sohail Ausaf, Chief Operations Officer, ServeU, said, “Corporate citizenship is an integral part of our business.  As a leading facilities services provider, we recognize that we are in a unique position to create a positive impact on society.  We integrate our expertise on valuable initiatives like this to contribute to the country’s social and economic development.  This is our way of giving back to the community – we want to show our gratitude to this nation by helping ensure that there is a sustainable future for all by advocating for environment protection”.

“We have always looked up to His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy upon him, taking inspiration from his unmatched environmental legacy.  More than promoting awareness on environmental issues, we also hope to nurture a culture of responsibility in nature protection and conservation through this beach clean-up drive,” Mr. Ausaf added.

Around 60 employees from the company attended the event, collecting non-biodegradable trash and other litter from the wide expanse of the Umm Suqeim Beach. In addition to setting an example to the wider community on the importance of environmental care, ServeU also shared best practices in identifying ecologically-safe materials and processes to eliminate ocean trash.
