Sony returns to demonstrate 'Beyond Definition' vision
Sony Professional, the world leading supplier of audio visual and technology solutions, returns to Cabsat for the 19th consecutive year. With Sony’s focus on 4K technologies and innovative solutions for the broadcast industry, attendees will be able to experience stunning content first-hand, along with the 4K CineAlta cameras and the workflow behind it. "Cabsat is an important platform to highlight our new and innovative technologies for the broadcast industry and to build on our strong position in the Middle East,” says Vivian Saldanha, Business Head, Content Creation Sales & Market Development at Sony Professional Solutions MEA. “Sony’s goal at Cabsat is to demonstrate added value to our customers and partners by showcasing our latest innovations in the broadcast industry,” he added.
One of our main focuses at Cabsat is 4K Live Production, which stands out this year as a full live production system. 4K brings powerful benefits to current HD live productions, including useful tools like HD cut-out from 4K footage that allows reframing, image stabilization and digital zoom with no loss of HD quality. Sony’s 4K Stitch solution provides a full view of the sports field using only two cameras, allowing users the capability to zoom in and capture events from any part of the sports field. In addition, the Telestrator option provides users to track players on the field and also provide statistical analysis.
Sony’s PWS-4400 is a cost effective, next-generation solution for 4K live production, HFR (High Frame Rate) HD and Slow-Motion replay. Suitable for both 4K and HD production, this unit can record 4K and HD video using as many as four 4K channels using the very efficient XAVC video format. The Sony 4K live solution including the PMW-F55 Camera chain, PWS-4400 4K server, Stitch and Telestrator solution is being displayed at the Sony stand.
Further enriching Sony’s acclaimed 4K*/HD multi-format switchers is the ICP-X7000 control panel. Showcased for the first time in the Middle East, this newly developed control panel adds an RGB cross-point button, a high-visibility OLED display and an easy-to-operate LCD button. These switchers can also implement network-data management capability, enabling new and improved workflows. The built-in wireless connectivity made available in our newly launched XDCAM camcorders like PXW-X180, PXW-X200, PXW-X500 give broadcasters and production houses an edge to report live news, events as and when they happen. Being first on air or on the web is easy with this cost effective solution, which includes the wireless remote control using smartphones or tablets, proxy file transfer, hi-res file transfer and wireless streaming using affordable solutions from Sony.
Also on the stand is the world's first 4K Ultra Short Throw laser projector delivering images with incredible clarity. This projector provides superb colour accuracy and stability plus virtually maintenance-free operation. Vision Presenter is Sony’s intuitive presentation solution that unites all your content - including videos, still images and PowerPoint slides - into one dynamic, super-sized montage that’s easily managed from tablet devices. The latest version adds a wealth of exciting new features bringing even more detail and impact to sales presentations and virtual team meetings.
In addition to 4K solutions, Sony will showcase its Optical Disc Archive solutions that offer reliable and robust large-capacity media for long-term deep archive and near-online archive, with total integration with news and broadcast workflows.
