HH Sheikh Hasher Bin Juma Al Maktoum, Director General of the Dubai Department of Information has inaugurated Al Fares International Equine exhibition in Meydan in Dubai.
The exhibition is one of the oldest fairs in Asia and Africa that is specialized in the equine industry. It provides all the gears needed in equestrian sports such as food and medicine, in addition to securing materials to establish horse riding centres, and other related maintenance products and services. The event welcomes horse owners, trainers, equine industry experts, and senior international knights. Al Fares illustrates the remarkable development of these sports in the UAE and displays the latest new products and services for horses and riders.
During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Hasher said: "We are pleased to open Al Fares exhibition for the first time in Meydan in Dubai, which leverage it to a higher level and confer it greater credibility among the horse lovers and equestrian community. This is intended to raise the number of visitors from horse riders, coaches and specialists in equestrian sports within UAE and all over the world. This is an outstanding start of the show as it precedes the launch of horse racing events in Meydan. The latter contributes in raising the exhibition popularity, which allows riders and sportsmen participating in Dubai racing to acquire required equipments for this international competition."
HH Sheikh Hasher added: "Al Fares fair will remain a leading platform to disseminate the horsemanship values, principles and ethics that constitute the pride of Arabs since ancient times. It has also a mission of increasing mainstream interest in equine sports among young men and women in the region, which would contribute positively to shaping their personalities and inculcating courage spirit."
Mr Satish Khanna, the exhibition organizer, has confirmed the importance of having sportsmen attending the event to take advantage of the expertise of international specialists and pioneers in the equitation’s field, as well as to discover the novelties and last information about the equine industry and the exciting universe of horseracing.
