We are pleased to announce Mr. Mauro Governato, General Manager for Hotel de Russie, in Rome, a Rocco Forte Hotel, has been voted as the #3 Best General Manager Worldwide. Hotel de Russie has also been awarded as Hotel of the Year, by the readers of the UK-based The Gallivanter’s Guide.

The Editor's Choice Awards were polled in this 25th annual readers’ survey and the winners were recognised for their service excellence and outstanding performance. Published since 1991, The Gallivanter’s Guide serves as a worldwide reference for luxury travel aficionados with a readership in 42 countries.

Mauro Governato has been in the hospitality industry for 29 years. Previously, he was General Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon. Bringing a wealth of management experience to his new role, his career has taken him from the Four Seasons Resort Provence a Terre Blanche-France to the One&Only Le Saint Géran (Mauritius) and One&Only Kanuhura (Maldives). Early on, Governato was in the food and beverage industry, working in Michellin-starred restaurants across Europe.
Born in Piemonte, Mr. Governato speaks five languages and holds a degree in Hotel Management from Istituto Alberghiero G. Colombatto in Turin, Italy. He has completed courses at Cornell University and has a Sommelier Diploma from the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) in Milano, Italy.
