The registration process for domestic pilgrims to perform Haj will begin in mid-Ramadan on May 30 and will last till July 13 (end of Shawwal), the Ministry of Haj and Umrah announced on Saturday.
Citizens and residents intending to perform Haj this year can register through (http://localhaj.haj.gov.sa), the e-portal of the Haj and Umrah Ministry.
The ministry also advised intending domestic pilgrims to complete their registration as early as possible.
It also emphasized that domestic pilgrims should take use of e-portal service and should avoid dealing with operators directly.
The ministry has restricted marketing campaigns by private Haj operators inside the Kingdom.
All Haj operators are required to accept domestic pilgrims only through the ministry’s web portal.
For the first time the ministry has also provided the option to save selected packages and operators’ list in the menu for confirmation at a later stage.
The two-phase registration and confirmation process has been made easier for domestic pilgrims.
The ministry also advised intended Haj pilgrims not to shell out any extra money to Haj operators other than the amount mentioned in the portal.
The e-portal provides complete menu, service options and other details of Haj operators.
In the first phase, registration can be completed from May 30 to July 13. In the second phase (July 14 to August 18), applicants confirm their bookings.
